The mission of the Admiralty Litigation Committee is to enhance the skills of the attorneys practicing law in this specialized area and to assist our court system as well as legislative bodies in the development of the maritime laws of the United States. The committee will work to facilitate justice in implementation of marine laws throughout the United States, while promoting the development and progress of admiralty practitioners’ litigation skill set.
Message from the Chairs
In its long history, the American Bar Association Section of Litigation has not had an Admiralty Litigation Committee. The ABA Section of Litigation recently created this Committee to promote, develop, and enhance litigation skills among the thousands of marine practitioners across the country and to facilitate and refine the admiralty laws of the United States.
We encourage our members to become active in this committee through participation in our subcommittees as well as the initiatives that will be established through the year. We actively encourage admiralty practitioners to submit articles and/or content for our newsletter or Section of Litigation website. If you wish to become involved in any of these areas, please contact the committee cochairs or subcommittee chairs.
We look forward to serving as a vibrant and productive committee within the Section of Litigation while addressing the professional needs of our members.
