Legal Services Fundraising Training Program

The American Bar Association Litigation Section is pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for the 2022 Legal Services Fundraising Training Program. The Program is designed to offer intensive development training, at no cost, to staff responsible for, and Board members engaged in, fundraising at legal services organizations.

This training is available ONLY to those organizations that provide their services free of charge to clients. The program be held virtually May 19­–20, 2022.

Training Cost

Since the program is being held virtually, there is no cost to attend this training program.

Eligibility

Legal aid organizations that have Development operations in place for at least one year may apply for a stipend to help defray out-of-pocket costs of attendance. Submission of a timely application is required. In order for the applicants to qualify, their sponsoring organization must issue a press release and add to their web page, or through social media, an announcement about their upcoming participation in the 2022 Legal Services Fundraising Training Program sponsored by the ABA Litigation Section.

May 19–20, 2022

Limit

Up to 8 legal services programs will be invited to participate; up to two staff members and one private attorney per program may attend the Legal Services Fundraising Training. Applications from organizations that are not requesting a stipend will also be considered, subject to program size availability.

Apply

All applications are due by April 22, 2022. Acceptance will be limited to those programs where a private bar attorney commits to attend the training along with the Executive Director or Development Director responsible for fundraising.
