New IOLTA Program Directors in New Jersey and North Carolina
Mary Waldman joined the IOLTA Fund of the Bar of New Jersey in May 2017 as its new Executive Director. Previously, she served in the New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics (OAE) as both Assistant Chief of Investigations and Assistant Chief of the Random Audit Program. During her 28 years with the OAE, Ms. Waldman conducted audits and investigations of trust and business accounts from thousands of New Jersey law firms and also guided bank counsel and compliance officers at participating financial institutions. Ms. Waldman received a Bachelors' Degree in Commerce specializing in accounting from Rider University and became a Certified Fraud Examiner in 2008.
Mary Irvine becomes the new Executive Director of the North Carolina State Bar Plan for IOLTA (NC IOLTA) on August 24, 2017. Prior to becoming executive director, Ms. Irvine served as the Access to Justice Coordinator at NC IOLTA and NC Equal Access to Justice Commission. Ms. Irvine began her career at the North Carolina Network of Grantmakers. Following law school, she practiced family law at a small firm and worked with the UNC Center on Poverty, Work and Opportunity, conducting research, programming, and outreach to raise awareness of poverty and related issues. She received her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill.
