Section Announcements: New Senior Accreditation Counsel, Debt Webinar, and Bereavement Notices

New Senior Accreditation Counsel

The Section was excited to welcome a new staff member, Mimi Huang, last month. Mimi will serve as the Section’s Senior Accreditation Counsel and her primary responsibilities will focus on ensuring sound data collection and reporting.

Before joining the ABA, Mimi spent thirteen years working in law school administration. She held director and leadership roles in Admissions at Lewis & Clark Law School, The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, and Seton Hall University School of Law. Prior to pivoting into legal education, Mimi clerked for a civil judge of the New Jersey Superior Court and practiced environmental law at a boutique firm in Princeton, New Jersey.

Mimi earned her B.A. in Anthropology and Political Science with a minor in Music from Rutgers University and her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law.

In her spare time, Mimi enjoys cooking, traveling, running, and volunteering with foster dogs.

Please join us all in welcoming Mimi to the Legal Ed team!

Debt Webinar – December 12

The Section is hosting a complimentary webinar on law school debt for young lawyers on Thursday, December 12. Co-Sponsored by the Section and the ABA’s Law Student and Young Lawyers Divisions, Road To Zero: Strategizing, Managing, and Repaying Student Loans will feature a panel of experts as they discuss managing student loans – from current trends and the recent ABA Student Loan Debt Survey – to repayment strategies, Public Service Loan Forgiveness, consolidation, and refinancing. Ultimately this program will help attendees determine the plan that will best align with current needs, future aspirations, and financial goals.
