Council and Kutak Awards

The Section recognized its outgoing Council members, the 2024 Kutak Award recipient Leo P. Martinez, and members of the Strategic Review Committee at its Council and Kutak Award Reception and Dinner held on May 17^th in Chicago. The Section also recognized Managing Director Bill Adams for his service and contributions to legal education as he begins his retirement on June 1^st.

Terms on the Council are concluding in August for the following:

Antonio García Padilla (Delegate), S. Collins Saint (YLD Liaison), Joseph West (Immediate Past Chair), and Jehan Worthy (law student). Bridget McCormack also concludes her term as Chair.

Upcoming Programs

The Section looks forward to the many workshops, conferences, and programs it will offer over the next several months including the Annual Questionnaire Training, New Deans’ Workshop, Deans’ Workshop, Site Evaluation Workshop, and Law School Development Conference.

The Section will also present a complimentary program on law student debt during the ABA’s Annual Meeting. The program, presented in collaboration with the ABA Law Student Division and Young Lawyers Division, will be held on Thursday, August 1.
