March 15, 2024: Rule 22

The law school must comply with the requirements of Rule 22. The notice of intent to apply for provisional or full approval must be submitted to the Managing Director’s office no later than March 15, 2024 (by March 15 of the academic year prior to the academic year in which the law school will apply for approval). The law school should indicate its preference for a fall or spring site evaluation visit. The Managing Director’s office cannot guarantee the preference but will try to accommodate the request.

October 2024: Earliest Likely Site Visit

The earliest likely site visit is October 2024. This assumes notice of intent to apply by March 15, 2024, and visit scheduled in fall 2024 semester. The site team will submit the site report to the Managing Director’s office within six weeks after the visit. Upon receipt, the report will be reviewed and processed by the Managing Director’s office before being sent to the law school. The law school then has 30 days to submit its response to the site report.

May 2025: Council Consideration

The May 2025 Council Meeting is the earliest likely meeting based on a fall 2024 site visit. Provisional approval effective as of date of Council decision.

2026-2027: First Required Site Evaluation

The first required site evaluation during provisional approval is the 2026-2027 academic year. Council consideration at May or August 2027 meeting. Rule 4(g) directs a site visit to a provisionally approved law school in years two and four, and upon application for full approval. The Council may direct a site evaluation in any other year..
