Individual Registration: REGISTER NOW. Rates: Non-Member Individual—$175; ABA Member Rate—$150. Note that an ABA website login and password is required for each individual registration. If you are not an ABA member, you will be asked to register as a new customer. If you do not know your member ID or receive an error message in the registration process, please call 1-800-285-2221, and press 2 for the ABA Membership Department.


Group Registration: Groups of 10 or more are eligible for a group registration rate of $125/person. To register a group, please fill out the GROUP REGISTRATION FORM. Note that each individual must fill out a form and submit it with the group. If payment will be made on behalf on the entire group, please note that on each form.

General Information

The Summit provides an opportunity for all members of the criminal justice community, as well as leaders of state and local bars, to learn about issues at the forefront of public defense. Sessions will focus on challenges and innovations in public defense. This all day event includes all day programming, materials, CLE, continental breakfast and lunch.


The Summit will be held at ABA Headquarters at 321 N. Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60654. Clark/Lake Station is nearby.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellation requests for the 13th Annual ABA Summit on Public Defense (Summit) must be made in writing and sent to To cancel a Summit registration without penalty, a written request must be received by Friday, March 30, 2018. All cancellation requests received March 31 through April 13, 2018 will be subject to a $25 processing fee. No refunds or exceptions will be given for cancellation requests received after April 13, 2018. The registration can be transferred to another individual affiliated with the same organization for attendance at the 2018 Summit. The transfer request must be made in writing and sent to by Thursday, April 19, 2018. Summit registration transfers may not be reflected on the conference roster.
