President-Elect Michelle Behnke

Dear Colleague:

The work we do in the Association is important and requires hundreds of committed volunteers working with our committed staff. Those volunteers are appointed through the annual presidential appointments process. Each year, we make approximately 700 appointments to ABA Standing Committees, Special Committees, Commissions, and other Association entities and initiatives. I welcome and value your participation as you seek an appointment or nominate an ABA member whom you know. Connecting members to their passions through this appointments process will be one of the highlights of my service.

Help support the public service work of the ABA

Many ABA entities depend on charitable contributions to remain responsive to critical and emerging legal needs. Gifts are received through the Association’s 501c3 charitable arm, the ABA Fund for Justice and Education (FJE). As an ABA leader, you are encouraged to advance these programs in many ways, including making your generous gift, which can be designated to the public service work that is meaningful to you.
