The ABA Professional Program for International Visitors is a special part of our overall international involvement. That involvement was strengthened in 1983 when the House of Delegates adopted Goal IV, "to advance the rule of law". Underlying all the Association's international programs is our commitment to work with lawyers and judges throughout the world in the pursuit of peace and justice.
The Office of the President develops and coordinates programs for international visitors to Chicago that take place at The Bar Center and at other legal-based institutions in the Chicago area. Each program is personally crafted, and for its execution, the Office of President relies heavily on the ready cooperation of many individuals and institutions. Our international visitors are special people. Their visits are not only opportunities to share information about the ABA and the legal profession in the U.S., but to learn and be motivated by the challenges presented by trends and issues in the profession in other parts of the world.
