    As the national voice for the legal profession, the ABA must play a leadership role in helping to identify for the legal community the benefits and risks of continually changing AI and machine-learning systems and capabilities.

    ABA Leadership on AI

    With every transformation comes complex and challenging legal and ethical questions for the legal profession. At a time when private and public sector organizations are moving rapidly to design, develop, deploy, and use AI systems and capabilities, it is critical for the ABA to make recommendations and articulate principles to help ensure that the creation and incorporation of AI is done in accordance with the law and well-accepted legal standards.

    AI Task Force Mission

    The AI Task Force mission is to (1) address the impact of AI on the legal profession and the practice of law, (2) provide insights on developing and using AI in a trustworthy and responsible manner, and (3) identify ways to address AI risks.

    The AI Task Force will provide lawyers with practical information about:

    • Developments on the use of AI for law and the legal profession
    • Tips and tools to navigate this complex technology
    • Insights on how to develop and use AI in a trustworthy and responsible manner
    • Recommendations and reports on high-priority issues.
