Impact of Resolutions

Resolution 401

Recognizing that education is a powerful tool to combat anti-Asian hate and discrimination, the House of Delegates adopted Resolution 401 as policy in August 2022 encouraging the development of K-12 curricula that includes the history and experiences of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders. The success of that action was spotlighted in this video produced for the Resolution and Impact Review Committee.

Resolution 102

During the 2022 Annual Meeting, the Resolution and Impact Review Committee highlighted "the Good News" of Resolution 102, adopted at the 2015 Annual Meeting, which urged bar authorities to eliminate questions about prospective lawyers’ mental health history, diagnoses or treatment; and instead urges questions that focus on a bar applicant’s ability to practice law in a competent, ethical and professional manner.

Resolution 110A

This video highlights Resolution 110A, sponsored by the Intellectual Property Section and adopted by the House at the 2019 Annual Meeting. It supports legislation creating the establishment of a Copyright Small Claims Program, with authority to adjudicate copyright small claims as a lower-cost, less- time-consuming alternative to federal court litigation of copyright claims. This resolution was a significant factor in the enactment of the CASE Act.
