Cyndi is the Dean & Nathan G. Gordon Professor at the University of Arkansas School of Law. She previously served as dean from 2006-2011 as the first woman of person of color to serve in that role. She previously served on Labor and Employment Law Section Council, and as an LEL Section Delegate. She has served on the Constitution and Bylaws Committee, Commission on Homelessness and Poverty, the Diversity Center and the Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary. She was also chair of the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation and currently serves on the Foundation’s Fellows Research Advisory Committee and as an Arkansas State Co-Chair. She is a member of the Torts Drafting Committee of the NCBE, an elected member of ALI and a past recipient of the ABA’s Margaret Brent and Spirit of Excellence Awards.

Cyndi grew up on the southside of Chicago but has lived in Fayetteville since 1994. She is a member of the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame Board and the Arkansas PBS Commission. She attends Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and previously served on the board of Bikes, Blues and BBQ, the largest charitable motorcycle rally in the country. She enjoys travel, reading with one of her two cats on her lap, food and laughter with friends, and gardening.
