Michael Mutek serves as the general counsel of Aerojet Rocketdyne’s defense business unit and is located at the company’s headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama. He is a past chair of the ABA’s Public Contract Law Section and served two terms in the ABA’s House of Delegates. Mutek is a fellow of the Public Contract Law Section and a life fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Mutek is author of several publications including Contractor Team Arrangements: Competitive Solution or Legal Liability, published by the American Bar Association. He chaired the Services Contracting Best Practices Task Force and edited the Task Force’s Services Contracting Best Practices: A Guide to Successful Services Contracting, published by the American Bar Association. He has testified before Congress on government acquisition issues and has served as an expert witness and as an arbitrator.

Admitted to practice in Ohio, DC, California, Virginia, Texas, and Alabama, as well as several federal courts, Mutek currently serves as the chair of the University of Dayton School of Law’s Advisory Council.

Mutek and his wife live on Monte Sano overlooking Huntsville, Alabama, and they have a grown daughter who is a clinical psychologist with the Veterans Health Administration.
