G. Nicholas Casey, Jr.

G. Nicholas “Nick” Casey Jr., managing partner in the Charleston, West Virginia, law office of Lewis, Glasser, Casey and Rollins, today became treasurer of the American Bar Association, one of the largest voluntary membership professional organizations in the world.

Casey will take office for a three-year term as treasurer of the ABA on Aug. 12, 2014, at the conclusion of the association’s Annual Meeting in Boston.


Casey has extensive legal experience in business development matters, including finance, taxation, real estate leasing and acquisitions, government relations and as an advocate before the West Virginia legislative and executive branches regarding legislation, policies and regulations. He holds a certificate as a certified public accountant. He is a candidate for U.S. Congress, campaigning to represent West Virginia’s 2nd district.

Locally, Casey is former chairman of the West Virginia Democratic Party, past-president and current member of the West Virginia State Bar Association, past-president of Kanawha County Bar Association, past-president and past board member of West Virginia Bar Foundation and member of the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation. Casey is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and West Virginia University College of Law.

Casey previously served as a delegate to the ABA House of Delegates from 1995-97 and 2003-09 and as chair of the ABA Board of Governors Finance Committee, chair of the Board of Governors Finance Pension Subcommittee and chair of the Board of Governors Finance Investment Subcommittee. He also served as a two-term member of the ABA Standing Audit Committee.

He is a fellow in the ABA and the West Virginia State Bar.
