Joe is principal of the Crosthwait Law Firm in which he practices primarily in the area of estate planning, estate related litigation, and representation of licensed professionals. He also frequently serves as an expert witness in fee matters, attorney malpractice, breach of fiduciary matters, and undue influence. He has previously served as the State Delegate for Oklahoma and has otherwise served in the House of Delegates since 1994, serving on SCOPE and the Constitution and By-Laws Committee. He previously served as Chair of the Standing Committee on Solo and Small Practice.

He has also served as the President of the Oklahoma County (1995) and Oklahoma State Bar Associations (2000) and the National Conference of Bar Presidents (2008-09). In Oklahoma, he also served six years on the Professional Responsibility Tribunal, three of which as Presiding Master, as well as the Oklahoma Temporary Court of Appeals. Among other recognitions, Joe has been the recipient of the ABA Small Firm Merit Award (1999), the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Joe Stamper Distinguished Service Award (2018), the Oklahoma County Bar Association’s Bobby Knapp Leadership Award (2017), and the Oklahoma Black Lawyers’ Association Diversity Award (2000). He has also served as Chair of the Oklahoma Fellows of the American Bar Foundation and is an elected member of the American Law Institute.

Joe has been active in Oklahoma Lawyers For Children since 1997 and is on the Executive Board of OCULaw. He is also a trustee of the Rose State College Foundation. He is also a member of the Federalist Society.

He and his wife Sherry enjoy travel, tennis, skiing, and scuba diving. Joe loves politics. Sherry, not so much.
