Judge Brown has served as an Associate Judge in Howard County MD since 2002. She was named Administrative Judge in 2017 where she presides over Civil, Criminal, Domestic and Traffic cases as well as being responsible for all administrative matters. She has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Baltimore Law School and Faculty for the Maryland Judicial College and National Judicial College. She was a lecturer for the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA). Her numerous ABA positions have included State Delegate of Maryland, former Chair of the ABA Government Lawyers Division, the Commission on Domestic & Sexual Violence, the Gavel Committee and the Standing Committee on Bar Services and Activities. She has also served as Chair of the Minority Caucus and Division Delegate to the House of Delegates and as an Officer for the Specialized Trial Court Judges Conference of the Judicial Division.
Judge Brown is a past President of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Baltimore City Bar. She has been active in Civic and Philanthropic affairs including the Metropolitan YWCA, Maryland Lupus Foundation, the Board of Social Services and Sexual Violence Coordinating Council. She has received numerous honors including Maryland’s “Top 100 Women”, Macalester College and the University of Baltimore Law School, Alumnus of the Year, The Leadership in Law Award, Margaret Brent/Juanita Jackson Mitchell Award, Difference Makers Award, and the Advancement of Public Understanding of the Law Award.
Judge Brown is married to Christopher Robinson and they have twin adult children. Matthew is an Assistant Linebacker Coach at University of Maryland and Marissa is a DrPH Candidate in Infectious Disease at Morgan University.
