Greg is an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Minnesota.  From March 2017 to June 2018, Greg was the Acting United States Attorney for the District of Minnesota, and from 2014 to 2017, he served as the First Assistant United States Attorney.  He previously served as the Chair of the ABA Govt. & Public Sector Lawyers Division (2014-2015), as the Division’s delegate to the ABA House of Delegates (2017-2023), and on the ABA Nominating Committee (2021-2023).  Greg previously served on the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Board of Governors and as Chair of the state bar’s Public Law Section. 

In 2011, Greg received the United States Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award from Attorney General Eric Holder for his work on U.S. v. Thomas Petters, a criminal and civil fraud case involving a $3.7 billion Ponzi scheme.  In 2012, Greg received the Minnesota Lawyer Attorney of the Year Award for his work on a civil rights enforcement case involving the bullying of LGBTQ+ students in Minnesota’s largest school district.

Greg grew up in a small central Minnesota dairy farming community, where his parents owned and operated the village bakery.  He is an active runner and also enjoys cycling around the many lakes in Minneapolis.
