The Wellness & Mental Health Committee will help the Law Student Division ensure that law students have access to effective mental health & wellness resources; advocate for the psychological welfare of the student body; and create a supportive & welcoming environment for constructive discourse. Committee members may also aid in the creation and implementation of mental health programs, initiatives, resolutions, and content
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Chair with developing wellness and mental health programs for law students, such as workshops, seminars, support groups, or similar held during the Midyear and/or Annual Meetings.
- Assist the Chair with planning campaigns to raise awareness about mental health issues, reduce stigma, and promote the importance of seeking help among law students.
- Help curate and disseminate a comprehensive list of mental health resources, including counseling services, hotlines, and online tools, tailored to the needs of law students.
- Organize and coordinate wellness events to engage and support law students.
- Promote the use of ABA’s on-demand well-being programs and resources, ensuring law students are aware of available support.
- Optional: Create content for the Student Lawyer related to wellness and mental health.
Time commitment: 10 hours monthly.
Term: Committees serve a one-year term beginning at the conclusion of Annual Meeting through adjournment of the following Annual Meeting.
