Since its debut in 2017, the Start Up Competition has become the launching pad for trailblazing legal technology companies. This year’s event promises to be even bigger and better, and we’re looking for the next generation of legal innovators to take the stage in Chicago on April 2, 2025.
Here’s the deal: 15 startup finalists will be chosen to pitch their innovations LIVE on the opening night of TECHSHOW 2025, in front of a packed audience of legal professionals, tech enthusiasts, investors, and influencers. Each startup gets just 2.5 minutes to wow the crowd and the judges. The best part? The audience decides who walks away with the title of "Most Innovative Company."
So, what does it take to compete? We’re looking for startups that are less than five years old, have a product or service targeted at legal professionals (not consumers), and demonstrate real traction in users, revenue, or funding. The key is innovation—offering something fresh, a solution that addresses a real need in a way others haven’t.
Startups that make it to the final 15 will receive special exhibit space in the TECHSHOW Startup Alley, gaining incredible exposure at one of the premier legal tech conferences in the world. The winning startup will score a 10×10 booth at TECHSHOW 2026, a premium listing on the ABA’s Buyer’s Guide, advertising credits, and so much more.
