News & Events: Leadership Resources From LP

Zachary Bambacht

The Law Practice Division (LP) continues to adapt and evolve, learning valuable lessons from the past 20 months and incorporating agility into how we are moving forward as an entity. Our leadership and active members continue to offer timely and relevant topics that our ABA members have come to expect as well as offering new programs on topics and in ways that we haven’t delivered before. It’s been a transformative period in practice management, and our expertise is readily available to all ABA members who want to opt in to LP at no additional cost to their memberships.

As a Division, we have committed to providing a new Lawyer Leadership and Management Resource Center. Our center is designed for members who are managing partners, practice group leaders or other firm leaders to access resources for new innovative programming: CLE webinars; podcasts; law firm leadership community access and engagement; sample forms/ policies/procedures; and curated content focusing on LP’s legal leadership expertise and general organizational leadership.

Our Lawyer Leadership Mastermind Series launched in September 2020 to address some of the most pressing issues law firms are facing today and could face in the near future. These peer-to-peer discussion groups are intended to help our members solve their real-world firm problems with input and advice from other participants. Sessions begin with a brief conversation led by an expert who offers some guidance on the subject to set the tone for engaging conversations with peers. Our previous sessions were:

  • Best Practices for Planning a Safe and Effective Return to the Office
  • Herding Lions: Getting Partners on Board With Necessary Changes
  • What Now? What Next? Planning for the Future in an Uncertain World
  • Lawyer Well-Being: The Best Law Firm You Can Be
  • Does the Compensation System Thwart Your Law Firm’s Goals?
  • Succession Planning: What’s Your Next Step?

We are happy to share that the program is back by popular demand for this bar year! Be sure to check out our Events & CLE page for the latest and upcoming Lawyer Leadership Mastermind Series sessions:

Our Professional Development Board continues to offer more CLEs and webinars on even more topics than ever before. Thanks to its efforts and partnership with all our substantive committees, LP continues to offer programs that focus on practice management, finance, marketing and technology. Additionally, the Professional Development Board supported our Attorney Well-Being Committee, and it is offering a full week of daily webinars focused on well-being in the legal profession.
