Looking Forward to an Exciting 2019

Zachary Bambacht

2018 is almost over, and this is a great opportunity to look back and plan ahead. In this past year, we have seen a lot of positive changes to enhance the access of resources available to you and to help you engage with the practice management community. Our new website has been operational for several months and provides us all the ability to navigate efficiently to reach articles and content, sign up for webinars and CLE, search upcoming meetings that may be of interest to you and shop for books that relate to management, finance, technology, marketing and more!

You’ll also find ABA Connect on the new website. If you aren’t taking advantage of it already, ABA Connect is a great way to network online with the broader practice management community or in more narrowly focused groups that can offer you more specifics for topics you would like to discuss and receive feedback on. You can easily find ABA Connect within the Membership Directory, in the top navigation, and by selecting Communities. You can find our Law Practice-specific community at Law Practice Division Connect, a community with more than 9,700 members already. Once you are there, don’t forget to bookmark the page!

Join us for TECHSHOW and be a part of the future of practice management and technology. ABA TECHSHOW 2019 will be held from Feb. 27–March 2, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency of Chicago. Last year’s show was our most successful ever, and we look forward to it growing even more in 2019. Join industry-leading faculty and connect with nearly 2,000 leading technology users and influencers at the best conference for bringing lawyers and technology together. Get the latest information on legal tech products and services—and how to apply them to your practice and career. Look forward to innovative keynotes, the improved exhibit hall and, as always, the great networking opportunities. Registration is open now at techshow.com.

Get ready for TECHSHOW by taking advantage of more member benefits. Our awarding-winning Law Practice magazine, featuring six issues annually, keeps you up to date with feature articles on legal marketing/client development, practice management, technology and more. On the go? Take it with you using the mobile app that can be found in the app stores of Apple, Google Play and Kindle Fire.

Check out some of our favorite titles of 2018, and look forward to new releases in 2019! The Law Practice Division offers books and e-books focused on marketing, management, technology, finance and other topics to help you become a better legal professional. Our recent titles include Macs in Law: The Definitive Guide for the Mac-Curious, Windows-Using Attorney, for those who are contemplating switching to a Mac; Microsoft Office 365 for Lawyers (Second Ed.), an easy-to-understand guide for Office 365; and The Lawyer’s Guide to Collaboration Tools and Technologies: Smart Ways to Work Together (Second Ed.), a go-to guide for mastering the collaboration process.

We continue to evolve as an organization, and we look forward to continuing to offer you a wide variety of resources to help you in your practice and add value to your career. Please stay connected with us at lawpractice.org.
