Dear Friends and Colleagues:
The ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law has made the decision to cancel this year's International Labor and Employment Law Committee Midyear Meeting, scheduled for May 3-7 in Berlin, Germany. The meeting has been rescheduled for May 2-6, 2021 at the Ritz-Carlton Berlin. Program details and hotel information will be distributed in October 2020.
We appreciate your patience as the LEL Section Executive Committee and International Labor and Employment Law Committee Co-Chairs have been carefully monitoring this dynamic situation. We will miss seeing all of you in Berlin and deeply regret losing the opportunities for members and other attendees to connect and to share their collective experiences. Our paramount concern, however, is for the health and safety of our members and their communities as well as the Section’s diversity and inclusion values with respect to providing an inclusive environment to all, including our older and disabled members and attendees.
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see you at the 14th Annual Labor and Employment Law Conference at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, California on November 11-14, 2020.
Meanwhile, look for a special edition of this Newsletter in the coming weeks. The special edition will contain a series of short articles on how the coronavirus has impacted labor and employment laws, and vice versa, in various countries. This will provide a snapshot of the myriad different workplace-related ways that many countries are (or are not) responding to the health crisis.
In the meantime, take good care of yourself, your family and your local community.
Warm regards,
Katherine Blostein (Employee Co-chair), David Garland (Employer Co-Chair), Clare Murray (International Co-Chair) and Jennifer (JJ) Rosenbaum (Union & Employee Co-chair).
