John Bagyi, Bond, Schoeneck & King

I have been a management-side labor and employment attorney with Bond, Schoeneck & King in Albany, New York, since graduating from Albany Law School in 1996. While I went to law school planning to be a corporate lawyer, all that changed after serving as a summer law clerk at Bond.

Today, I represent management in a broad range of labor and employment matters, but the focus of my practice is assisting employers pro-actively, ensuring they remain compliant with applicable law and act in accordance with best practices. I represent employers in a broad range of industries with a particular focus on financial services and human services. I’m most passionate about training and routinely provide training to human resource professionals, executives, supervisors and managers, and employees on a broad range of topics.

I am actively involved in the Society for Human Resource Management, serving as General Counsel of the New York State SHRM since 2005. I regularly present at national, state and local conferences, including the National SHRM and the New York State SHRM conferences. I previously served on the Board of the local SHRM chapter and, since 2006, have facilitated the chapter’s leadership program for mid-career human resource professionals with demonstrated leadership potential.

When not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife Dania and watching my daughter Kennedy play soccer and dive.
