I am honored to begin a three-year term as Plaintiff Co-Chair of the Employee Benefits Committee. I am excited to work with Co-Chairs: Judith Broach,
We have one of the largest committees in the ABA Labor and Employment Law Section, with exceptional expertise among our ranks. This committee has consistently had the benefit of knowledge from members who helped develop ERISA at its infancy, fought over its meaning in litigation, and created new rules through regulations and compliance procedures. I value their membership and willingness to always share their perspective. As one of the EBC Co-Chairs, one of my goals is to continue to grow our ranks, and to open the door for our younger and diverse members to step into leadership roles. Continuing to seek input and participation from all members will only benefit the EBC in the long run. I hope that everyone who wishes to participate in our many activities will seek me out to discuss and collaborate on how best you can contribute to our Committee.
As we begin a new year, the new administration appears ready to take actions that will certainly create new issues that will no doubt make the landscape of our practice area interesting and challenging. As developments unfold, please share your ideas and experiences so that our programing efforts, newsletter, and treatise will continue to reflect the high quality of discourse and expertise.
I am looking forward to serving this great group of attorneys in the EBC.
