Florence M. Johnson, is Principal Attorney with Johnson & Johnson, PLLC in Memphis, Tennessee. She has been practicing labor law for 26 years and joined the Section in 1999. Her current practice consists of 50% percent federal court litigation, with extensive class action litigation experience and 50% percent practice before state bodies. Currently, she has conducted more than 50 jury trials in state and federal courts and resolved more than 100 mattes through alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for private individuals and corporate entities. She has litigated under the FLSA, FMLA; WARN Act, ERISA, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, RLA, LMRA, NLRA, and Medicare False Claims Act. She also advises a number of private businesses on employee relations, routinely conducts training on employee issues and handle EEOC complaints. Other organizations that she has represented are the UAW, Teamsters and represented the interest of the International Longshoremen’s Union and the City of Memphis in collective bargaining. Currently, in addition to work in her firm, she represents the interest of the City of Memphis in litigation and arbitration matters. Florence M. Johnson is the incoming President of the Ben F. Jones Chapter of the National Bar Association and was selected as 2017 Fellow by the Memphis Bar Foundation.
