Carlos A. Hernandez, graduated from Southwestern Law School’s 2-year accelerated J.D. program in May of 2017. Southwestern Law School is located in Los Angeles, California. He joined the Section after attending the ABA Federal Judicial Clerkship Program during his first year as a law student and went on to serve as a federal and state judicial extern for the Honorable Philip S. Gutierrez in the U.S. District Court of Central California and The Honorable Gregory W. Alarcon in the Los Angeles County Superior Court . The ABA Federal Judicial Clerkship Program was one of the highlights of his law school education. This ABA program is one of the main reasons why he decided to serve as a federal and state judicial extern. Through this experience, Carlos has met many federal judges, dynamic association members, and committed law school students that were involved with the ABA, and he became instantly motivated to join the ranks of membership. In August of this year, he began working at NBCUniversal as a full-time law clerk in their employment law practice and is awaiting July Bar results. While in law school, he volunteered for over a year and a half at Bet Tzedek Legal Services in their employment legal clinic and is currently an active member of the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Bar Association. Upon passing the Bar, Carlos aims to become an employment and labor attorney. This recent grad is a great member to get to know.
