Daniel A. Schwartz, is a Partner at Shipman & Goodwin LLP in Hartford, Connecticut. He has been practicing labor and employment law for 22 years and joined the Section in 2000. Dan joined as he wanted to connect with the best and brightest in the field and stay up to date on recent employment law developments. Mr. Schwartz represents employers in a broad spectrum of employment law matters such as employment discrimination, restrictive covenants, human resources, retaliation and whistle blowing, data privacy and wage and hour issues. He has extensive trial and litigation experience in both federal and state courts in a variety of areas, including commercial litigation and trade secret enforcement. Dan is the author of the independent Connecticut Employment Law Blog, one of the most widely read blogs of its kind in the nation. The blog discusses new and noteworthy events in labor and employment law on a daily basis. From 2009-2014, the ABA Journal named it one of the top 100 blogs produced by lawyers after which it put the blog in its “Hall of Fame”. In his spare time, Mr. Schwartz serves as Corporate Sponsorship Chair for the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and on the Board of Directors of his synagogue. He is also the ABA State Delegate for Connecticut and serves on the ABA’s Nominating Committee. This self-described “thoughtful” lawyer is a great member to get to know.
