Courtney Mickman, is an Associate at Tully Rinckey PLLC in Washington, DC where she practices federal labor and employment law. She has been practicing law since 2012, the same year she became a Section member. She also serves as a Program Coordinator in Washington, DC for the ABA LEL Law Student Outreach Committee. Courtney joined the LEL section to network with other attorneys within her field, and to learn more about the areas of labor and employment law outside of her area of practice. She concentrates her practice on representing federal employees in Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) litigation, and defending federal employees against adverse actions. While she specializes in EEO litigation on behalf of federal government employees, she has handled several types of labor and employment cases, including but not limited to: claims of discrimination; claims of retaliation; unfair labor practice charges; whistle blower claims. Courtney received her Juris doctorate from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clark Law School. There she was a Dean’s Fellow, and was a recipient of the Fannie Lou Hamer Scholarship. Originally from Philadelphia, Courtney is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania state and federal courts (Eastern District of Pennsylvania), and the District of Columbia. This self-described “creative and motivated” lawyer is a great member to get to know.
