Brenda S. Stedham, began practicing law again after completing her service as a Circuit Court Judge in Anniston, Alabama in January, 2015. She has over 35 years of experience as a lawyer and judge. Brenda became a Section member last year to gain more knowledge and to network with other attorneys. Judge Stedham was elected to the Family Court bench of Calhoun and Cleburne Counties in 2008 after a 27-year career as an attorney in Anniston. Judge Stedham graduated cum laude from Birmingham-Southern College, where she was Student Government President. She received her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1980, after which she served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Richard L. Holmes on the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals. For twenty years, Judge Stedham practiced law at the firm of Dillon, Field, Monk & Stedham. She handled civil defense litigation as well as hospital law, municipal law, probate law, real estate law and family law matters. In 2001, Judge Stedham opened a solo practice, which she operated until she was elected to the bench. This self-described “determined” lawyer is a great member to get to know.
