Alexander J. Gancayco, a Public/Neutral lawyer works as an Honors Attorney at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in Phoenix, Arizona, and has been practicing labor and employment law for one year. His office serves a large region of the Southwest, including Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and portions of western Texas. The NLRB investigates charges filed by private-sector employers, unions, and individuals under the National Labor Relations Act (29 U.S.C. §§ 151-169), and litigates those cases before Administrative Law Judges and in federal district court. He joined the Section in 2014 because it provides an ideal forum for professional development. He believes the Section is filled with talented and experienced attorneys and that it continues to grow and diversify. By being an active member of the Section, he hopes he can contribute a unique point of view to conversations and assist the professional community practicing labor and employment law.
Alex finds the Section to be of particular value as a means of being kept up-to-date on developing issues in every area of the field, including those which he wouldn't be apprised of on a daily and ongoing basis otherwise. He has become most involved in the Practice and Procedure Under the National Labor Relations Act Committee. This self-described “friendly” lawyer is a great member to get to know!
