2015-03-30 - Martin D. Parsons

Martin D. Parsons is a 3L law student at Southern Illinois University School of Law in Carbondale, IL.  He spent 26 years in the military before retiring and working to complete a dream of becoming a lawyer.  Martin currently works part-time at a boutique firm in Carbondale, IL, Rhode & Jackson, P.C., that practices all areas of Labor & Employment Law.  He has a strong interest in Veteran’s employment issues, such as the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).  Martin joined the Section during his first semester of law school in 2012 to stay informed about current litigation, as well as employment trends in the field.  The information he has learned from the Section has been invaluable in the courses he has taken in law school in the field and he is better prepared to participate in discussions during class.  He is most interested in the Employment Rights and Responsibilities Committee.  Martin is a great member to get to know!
