This committee follows developments under the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act, as well as various state plans through which occupational safety and health laws and regulations are enforced. The committee has over 350 members from all over the country and from Canada as well. The members of the committee produce a treatise (published with BNA), entitled Occupational Safety and Health Law, which is now in its second edition. The committee plans and presents a substantive midwinter meeting program each year, which draws close to 150 attendees. A significant number of government officials from the state and federal levels (including the Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA, the Solicitor of Labor and members of the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission and the federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission) regularly attend and generally participate on panels during the midwinter meetings.
Papers presented at Committee Midwinter Meetings are archived and can be accessed using the link in the lefthand navigation column. More often than not, links will open new windows to Adobe PDF files. In some cases the link at the left will open directly to that year's agenda, there being no copies of anything else.
