Gavel Talks host Richard Ginkowski points out that state constitutions were often left in the dust during the dynamic Warren Court era that gave rise to increasing federalism but historically state constitutions led the way in protecting personal rights and makes the case that lawyers and judges should, whenever possible, consider state constitutions as the primary source of protecting our rights.
