Municipal courts often conjure up the image of a "Judge Roy Bean" administering cash register justice. Judge Ron Cable of the Akron Municipal Court is one of many local judges working hard to defeat that image. In addition to a special treatment court docket for domestic abuse offenders, he presides over RISE—a program aimed at human trafficking victims—and CONNECT, a special docket designed for developmentally disabled defendants, including people with autism.
