Call for Nominations
Justice and Rule of Law Award
The William D. Missouri Civility Award
The Judicial Division is accepting nominations for both The Justice and Rule of Law Award and The William D. Missouri Civility Award.
The Justice and Rule of Law Award was established to recognize those dedicated to the improvement of the administration of justice. The award is presented annually to an individual -- lawyer or non-lawyer – or organization who has been responsible for extraordinary improvement in the administration of justice in such areas as judicial independence, justice system reform, and public awareness about the justice system and the rule of law.
The William D. Missouri Civility Award is named in honor of the Honorable William D. Missouri who worked tirelessly throughout his career to promote civility and professionalism through the bar, the bench, and the community, across all racial, ethnic and gender groups. He advocated for fairness and respect for all individuals. The award may be presented to an individual who exhibits exceptional qualities of civility, courtesy, and professionalism in their legal or judicial careers towards not only colleagues and litigants, but the public at large. The award may also be presented to an organization that promotes civility and professionalism in the legal profession.
The awards will be presented in conjunction with the 2022 ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL.
Nominations forms and rules may be found on the Judicial Division Awards page.
The deadline is Friday, May 13. If you have questions, please contact Kris Berliant at 312.988.5700 or via email at [email protected]
