A. Robinson Hassell is a special superior court judge for the 18th Judicial District of the Fifth Division of the Superior Court, serving Guilford County in North Carolina. He was appointed to the court by former Governor Bev Perdue in March 2009. As a special superior court judge, Hassell is assigned and commissioned cases by the Chief Justice to preside over civil and criminal cases in the superior courts throughout North Carolina.
Education
Hassell received his undergraduate degrees in political science and economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1983 and his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 1986.
Career
Before he became a superior court judge, Hassell served on the 18th Judicial District as a district court judge for more than ten years. He has also worked as an attorney in private practice and as an assistant public defender.
