The Honorable William D. Missouri Civility Award
The Honorable William D. Missouri Civility Award is named in honor of the Honorable William D. Missouri, who embodied courtesy in the courtroom. It is presented annually in conjunction with the ABA Annual Meeting.
About the Award
The first Honorable William D. Missouri Civility Award was presented to the judge’s widow, Delores Missouri, at the ABA’s Annual Meeting in San Francisco on Friday, August 9, 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm. In subsequent years, it will be presented annually to a lawyer or judge who exhibits exceptional qualities of civility, courtesy and professionalism toward colleagues, litigants and the public. The award may also be presented to a person or organization that promotes civility and professionalism in the legal profession.
