NCALJ Nominating Committee Report

Automatic Succession to Office:
Pursuant to the Bylaws of the National Conference of the Administrative Law Judiciary, at the upcoming Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, the following officers will assume office by automatic succession:

  • Hon. H. Alexander Manuel will succeed to the position of Chair
  • Hon. John. C. Allen, IV will succeed to the position of Chair-Elect
  • Hon. Robert S. Cohen will succeed to the position of Immediate Past Chair

Committee Nominations:
The Bylaws also provide that the NCALJ Nominating Committee shall make and report one nomination for each Conference office that will not be filled by automatic succession and four members of the Executive Committee to succeed those individuals whose terms will expire at the Annual Meeting. The Committee makes the following nominations for Conference office:

  • Hon. Patricia Miles as Vice-Chair
  • Hon. David L. Welch as Secretary

The Committee nominates the following for a three-year term as the Conference Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates:

  • Hon. Danette L. Mincey

The Committee nominates the following for two-year terms as members on the Executive Committee:

  • Hon. Michael L. Brownfield
  • Hon. Lorraine Lee
  • Hon. Kristin L. Rosi
  • Hon. Mimi Tsankov

Additional Nominations:
One or more additional nominations may be made for any elective office, but only by petition signed by not less than 20 Conference members and which petition should state that the member nominated has agreed to the nomination. The petition must be sent to the Conference Chair, Hon. Robert S. Cohen, via julianna.peacock@americanbar.org, and must be received no later than 60 days prior to the Annual Meeting.

Election to Office:
The nominees will be voted on at the ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL, on Saturday, August 1, 2020.
