This session discusses last December's decision by the U.N. General Assembly to move forward with diplomatic negotiations for a Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Humanity, based on the International Law Commission’s 2019 Draft Articles on this topic. The expert panel will discuss the timeline for States to negotiate the Convention, will examine likely issues of contention, and will indicate possibilities for ABA and member involvement.
