Sarang (Sy) Damle is the General Counsel and Associate Register of Copyrights for the US Copyright Office. He was previously an appellate litigator at the Department of Justice, focused on intellectual property and administrative law matters. Mr. Damle has been recognized by National Law Journal for his work, both as one of the top “40 under 40” minority lawyers in the United States, and as one of Washington, DC’s “Rising Stars.” He received his JD from the University of Virginia, where he graduated first in his class.
