Pro bono is encouraged by my firm. The first pro bono work I ever did was as a first year associate and I’ve only done IP more recently. As a young associate, it was a good way to give back to the community and also gain valuable experience. More recently working in the IP area, I found that providing pro bono has been a good way to help people who might otherwise not be able to afford a lawyer.
