ABA Annual Meeting – 2015 – Chicago
Public service project at Safe Humane Chicago
At the 2015 ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago, members of the Section of Intellectual Property Law participated in a public service project with Safe Humane Chicago. Based on a principle that a humane community is safer, Safe Humane Chicago (SHC) is an innovative organization that was founded to make communities safer by reducing violence for our children and companion animals. Safe Humane's focus is on education, advocacy, and second chances for at-risk youth and animals. Section participants were provided with information about the mission of Safe Humane and they took a tour of the Safe Humane facilities. They worked with some of the dogs in the Safe Humane program, in a "manners" session, helping to socialize the dogs in the program and assist them with basic command responses.
