Copyright and Social Media Committee
Issues relating to the use of copyrightable subject matter in the context of the broad sharing of information over the Internet through social media platforms, such issues ranging from traditional ones, such as rights management and licensing, to the central role of user-generated content in online promotions; issues relating to the role of social media platforms as a separate source of “law” in virtual worlds; and, as this technology moves farther into uncharted territory, proposals that provide a better-defined legal context for these new developments and improve the ability of practitioners to address them.
