Scope
The Literary Works Committee addresses issues arising under copyright and related laws with respect to: (1) traditional print book, magazine, and newspaper publishing; (2) e-book and e-zine publishing; (3) open access vs. proprietary publishing; (4) book distribution on a subscription, as opposed to purchase, model; (5) fair use, orphan works, and other rights clearance issues; and (6) related international issues – first sale versus importation, reprographic rights organizations.
