Gabriela is currently the Legal Advisor for the Latin America and the Caribbean team at the American Bar Association Center for Human Rights (CHR), where she works on anti-corruption initiatives and protections to human rights defenders.
Prior to joining the CHR, Gabriela obtained her Master of Laws in International Legal Studies, with a Certificate in International Human Rights Law, from the Georgetown University Law Center. There, she focused on expanding her knowledge of human rights discourse and exploring advocacy paths in adverse contexts.
Gabriela has also worked at the Center for the Promotion and Defense of Sexual and Reproductive Rights - Promsex in Lima, Peru. There, she was the coordinator for the Strategic Litigation Team and led the design and implementation of the legal strategies for the cases taken on by organization and was the primary spokesperson on legal matters with regular appearances on national and international media. She has an LL.M. from Georgetown University and holds a Professional Degree of Lawyer (J.D. equivalent) from the National University of San Marcos.
