Welcome to a new bar year of HLbytes! As HLbytes editors, we look forward to providing you with another year of great content from thought leaders throughout the Health Law Section. We also hope to bring you some new types of content this bar year, which we hope you will enjoy.
As we move into the new year, we want to sincerely thank last year’s senior editor, Dave Ermer, for his years of valuable work on HLbytes. During our time as co-editors with Dave, Dave helped ensure HLbytes ran smoothly and maintained a steady stream of informative content. We are very grateful to him for his leadership, and we look forward to his continued contributions as an HLbytes contributor.
We also want to warmly welcome Sharon Dostmann, who is joining the HLbytes editorial team this year. Sharon has already proven herself to be a great colleague during our brainstorming sessions for this bar year, and we are excited to work with her.
Between the recent spate of major Supreme Court administrative law decisions, ongoing litigation concerning high-profile issues like abortion and Affordable Care Act Section 1557 protections for LBGTQI+ individuals, ongoing antitrust scrutiny of healthcare transactions, fast-moving developments in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, and the upcoming presidential election–to name just a few issues–there, no doubt, will be a substantial amount of health law news to cover in HLbytes this year. If you are interested in writing about any of these subjects–or any of the numerous other topics we cover in HLbytes each week–please do not hesitate to reach out to us or to Program Specialist Ally Donnantuono ([email protected]) at the American Bar Association Health Law Section. We welcome your submissions, and look forward to editing them.
