House to Vote on Bill That May Increase Training Efforts in the Long-term Care Workforce

The U.S. House of Representatives is set to vote on HR 6585, known as the “Bipartisan Workforce Pell Act.” Aging services trade group LeadingAge has voiced its support for the bill, stating that it could “provide a critical pipeline of care providers” for the long-term care workforce by making short-term workforce training programs with at least 150 instruction hours, but less than 600 hours, eligible for Pell Grant coverage.
