Biden-Harris Administration Kickstarts United States Core Data for Interoperability Plus Cancer

On March 5, 2024, the Biden-Harris Administration announced the kickstart of the United States Core Data for Interoperability Plus Cancer (USCDI+ Cancer), a recommended minimum set of key cancer-related data elements to be included in a person’s electronic health record, to advance equity in treatment and improve health outcomes for cancer patients. This effort is part of the Biden Cancer Moonshot Initiative, which aims to support cancer patients and their caregivers. The USCDI+ Cancer program builds on another initiative, the Enhancing Oncology Model (EOM), developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to lower costs, increase patient-centered care, and improve health outcomes.
