Licensed Counselor Pleads Guilty to Medicaid Fraud

On August 6, 2024, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut announced that a former Licensed Professional Counselor in New Haven, Connecticut pleaded guilty to defrauding the Connecticut Medicaid Program of $1,647,031.51  between January 2018 and March 2024.  According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the defendant billed for services that were never rendered.  The defendant agreed to pay full restitution and may face prison time of up to ten years when she is sentenced on October 30, 2024..
