Baptist Memorial Health Care, based in Memphis, Tennessee, and Anderson Regional Health System, in Meridian, Mississippi, have announced plans to merge in January 2024. Baptist Memorial, a not-for-profit health system, includes 22 hospitals across West Tennessee, Mississippi, and East Arkansas, over 5,400 affiliated physicians, and greater than 19,100 employees. Anderson Regional Health System, founded in 1928, consists of two hospitals, a regional cancer center, and network of clinics providing medical services to East Central Mississippi and West Central Alabama. After completion of the transaction, Anderson Regional Health System will maintain operations with local leadership.
